Nothing says summer quite like a refreshing drink. We wouldn’t mind a tall glass of iced tea on a hot day every now and then, but look inside your pantry and you’re likely to find everyday ingredients that you can use to whip up drinks perfect for this hot weather–from fruits and spices to seasonal ingredients and much more. Delhi-based nutritionist, Lovneet Batra, shares three Indian drink recipes from her new book 50 Desi Super Drinks to help keep you cool this season:

Kokum Fig Sherbet recipe
Perfect to keep heat stroke at bay
Serves: 5; Serving Size: 1 glass; Preparation Time: 5 minutes; Cooking Time: 3-4 minutes
1⁄2 cup semi-dried kokum
1⁄2 cup soaked fig
1 tsp roasted cumin seed powder
1⁄2 tsp black salt
2 cups water
Combine the semi-dried kokum and half a cup of water in a bowl, mix well and keep aside for 30 minutes.
Strain the kokum water and keep it aside.
Soak figs in half a cup of water overnight.
Blend the soaked kokum in a mixer using half the kokum water and blend till coarse. Keep aside.
Combine the remaining half kokum water and fig in a small pan. Mix well while cooking on a medium flame for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Transfer the mixture into a deep bowl and let it cool completely.
Once cooled, add the coarse kokum mixture and mix thoroughly to combine all the goodness together.Strain and pour the syrup using a strainer.
Add the roasted cumin seeds powder and black salt to enhance the flavour..
At the time of serving, add 2 tablespoons of this syrup into a tall glass along with a three-fourth cup of chilled water.
Aam Panna recipe
Immunity-boosting and keeps you cool
Serves : 2; Serving Size: 1 cup; Preparation Time: 1 minute; Cooking Time: 7 minutes
1 large raw mango
2 tsp cumin seed powder
Black salt to taste
2 tsp jaggery
Wash the raw mango and pressure cook for 4 whistles.
Allow the mango to cool completely.
Once cooled, peel and remove the pulp in a bowl.
Add the cumin powder, black salt and sugar and mix well till the sugar is dissolved.
Add 3 cups of chilled water and mix well.
Papaya Juice with Halim Seeds recipe
Healthy gut with a dose of vitamin C
Serves:1; Serving Size: 1 glass; Preparation Time: 10 minutes
200 g peeled papaya
50 ml water
2 tsp soaked garden cress seeds
Churn the papaya in the fruit juicer.
Mix with soaked garden cress.
