Name a cockroach after your ex this Valentine’s Day. Photo: ittipon2002
Valentine’s Day is supposed to be all about flowers, special dates and love. But if you have been through a break-up recently, it can be quite the opposite. If you’re all alone this V-Day, fret not: you have the good folks from San Antonio Zoo in your corner.
As part of the zoo’s “Cry Me a Cockroach” event, you can name a roach after your ex for just $5 (Rs400). The zoo will then feed your ‘ex’ to one of the resident animals. A roach not bad enough? Pay $20 (Rs1,500) more to name a frozen rat and have it fed to a reptile instead.
Vegetarian broken hearts, fear not! You can pick the $5 herbivore option and have a fellow vegetarian animal chomp on a leafy green snack named after that ingrate. The best part of it all? You can watch this slow, cathartic event on the zoo’s Facebook livestream. Cheaper than therapy. Maybe even better.
