As we see very often, building a custom car takes a lot of work, and might not always come out as good as expected. In the case of this Chevy Caprice, we’d say that its builders accomplished exactly what they wanted.
Built by a shop called Spade Kreations and listed for sale on Streetside Classics with an asking price of $39,995, this 1989 Caprice is eye-catching to say the least.
The one thing that immediately stands out is the green Hulk-themed airbrushing all over the car’s exterior. While it might be a bit gaudy, the job actually seems to be quite professionally executed. The paintwork, which cost an estimated $40,000, is said to be “custom crafted to be a color-coordinated and premium-packaged exhibition” and “more detailed than some Marvel movie plots”.

The car sports cut bumpers front and rear, custom lighting, and a custom grille, as well as Lamborghini-style doors, with each housing its own TV inside.
As for the interior, under the Cadillac SRX-sourced rood and custom landau top lies a unique wraparound dash and custom bucket seats that follow the same Hulk green and black theme of the exterior. Some of its creature comforts include power windows, power seats, a power sunroof and a tilt steering column. While a regular Caprice has four doors and a functional second row, this one doesn’t, instead featuring a monstrous speaker setup in place of the rear seats. The total count for the entire car is 14 amplifiers, 28 speakers, and four 15-inch subwoofers.

One of the most surprising things about this Caprice, however, is that the modifications are more than skin-deep. That’s because it’s fitted with a 7.0-liter LS7 V8 making 505 hp (512 PS / 377 kW) and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque, although its lift and massive 30-inch DUB wheels could raise questions concerning its ability to really handle all that power. The car also comes with a Borla exhaust with electronically-switchable modes, as well as four-wheel disc brakes and beefed-up suspension components.
The company claims that it would take over $200,000 to get it recreated today, and while it’s certainly unusual, we have to respect the amount of work that went into it. Between the intricate paintwork, engine swap and extensive cosmetic modifications inside and out, there’s no denying the effort put into this build, even if it isn’t quite to our liking.
