A brand new video from the set of the MCU’s untitled Spider-Man 3 film features the web-slinging hero and potentially MJ doing a high flying stunt.
A new video from the Spider-Man 3 set features the titular hero and potentially MJ doing a high-flying stunt. Set to release December of 2021, the Marvel Studios and Sony collaboration project started production in October, with filming currently taking place in Atlanta, Georgia.
The MCU may still be on an extended break after the end of the Infinity Saga in 2019 due to the coronavirus pandemic, but productions for upcoming projects are back in full swing. After Shang-Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings wrapped up work in Australia, Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love & Thunder is set to follow suit as filming is expected to begin in January. Meanwhile, Disney+ projects such as The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and Loki are at the tail end of their respective works.
Spider-Man 3, on the other hand, continues to shoot. Not much set content has been released thus far, and chances are, it’s because they’re mainly doing work inside the studio. That changed, however, when Spider-Man and another character, who looks like MJ, are caught on camera doing a stunt outside of a sound stage. Check out the video shared on Twitter by user @chrjstopherpine.
Given the distance from the actual stunt, it’s difficult to be sure who Spider-Man is with. But, based on the clothes of his companion, it appears to be MJ, who interestingly, seems to be wearing the same clothes she was sporting at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home. Given this, it’s possible that Spider-Man 3 will pick up directly after the end of the sequel. Considering how that 2019 film ended with Spider-Man’s real identity exposed, not to mention the fake claims about him killing Mysterio, Peter may seek MJ following their date to inform her of what happened. That way, he can also keep her safe since she’s known to have personal ties to the Queens-based superhero.
Filming is still set to continue in the next few months, with a supposed location shoot in New York as they did in Spider-Man: Homecoming and Far From Home. By then, chances are there’ll be more content from the set of the film. At this point, other big actors rumored to appear such as Jamie Foxx as Electro and Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange have yet to be spotted. But, if they’re indeed part of the project, it’s only a matter of time before their involvement is confirmed through photos/videos. In the meantime, what Marvel Studios and Sony can do now is announce Spider-Man 3‘s official title, giving fans something to obsess about for at least a couple of weeks.
