A Manual Gearbox BMW M6 Gran Coupe Competition Is Rarer Than You Think

Even though this isn’t a limited edition model, nor is there anything exclusive about owning a BMW M6 Gran Coupe, this particular example features a surprisingly rare spec.

According to its Bring a Trailer ad, this Space Gray Metallic M6 Gran Coupe is one of just 23 fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox and the Competition Package for the North American market. That’s a pretty interesting combo, if you ask us.

Visually, this M6 comes with a carbon fiber roof and rear diffuser, adaptive xenon headlights and 20-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S rubber. Since it also has the Competition Package, you get stiffer springs, lower ride height, revised dampers, performance exhaust and anti-roll bars.

The car does have 49,000 miles (79,000 km),

Inside, you got Zandvoort Beige Merino leather with matching door panel inserts, carbon fiber trim and an Alcantara headliner. Meanwhile, goodies include heated front seats, quad-zone climate control, sunroof, Comfort Access, sat-nav, head-up display and more.

Of course, it’s the six-speed manual gearbox that sticks out. It’s quite rare to see this setup on a large premium four-door like the M6 Gran Coupe which is more of a long-distance cruiser that’s perfect for gobbling down Autobahn miles. Then again, there’s no reason why this car shouldn’t be enjoyable to drive at all times, especially since this manual ‘box is mated to a 567 HP 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8.
