Succession Season 3 Starts Filming This Month

Succession season 3 is set to start filming around the middle of this month, according to Alan Ruck, who plays Connor Roy on the hit HBO drama.

Alan Ruck said Succession season 3 will start filming this month. Based largely on the real-life Murdoch family, Succession follows the in-fighting among the amoral members of the Roy family, led by abrasive patriarch Logan Roy (Brian Cox) whose conglomerate Waystar RoyCo is among the most powerful and influential media companies in the world. The hour-long HBO series has been praised for its incisive balance of dark humor and family drama, recently winning an enormous seven Primetime Emmy Awards out of 12 nominations. Fans have been craving any news regarding when they can expect season 3, particularly following the explosive season 2 finale that pits Kendall Roy (Jeremy Strong) against his father Logan in what looks to become their fiercest battle yet.

Alan Ruck, who plays Connor Roy, the eldest son and black sheep of the Roy family, told People TV that shooting on Succession season 3 is set to begin in New York around the middle of this month. Production was supposed to start in April but was delayed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In August, series creator Jesse Armstrong said he hoped to start filming before Christmas this year, though he never gave a specific date. If the mid-November start date holds true, fans should hopefully expect to have new episodes by fall 2021.

While the newly inflamed war between Kendall and Logan is what most fans are waiting for, Connor will surely get his fair share of darkly cringeworthy moments in season 3. The last time we saw Connor, he was brutally berated by his father for his sham of a presidential campaign, with Logan eventually forcing Connor to give it up. Connor is one of Succession‘s most unpredictable characters, if not the most delusional, so fans will be curious to see what he does next now that he checked “running for president” off his list of ridiculous endeavors.
